چکیده
Sepia pharaonis , the pharaoh cuttlefish, is a commercially valuable cuttlefish species across southeast coast of China and an important marine resource for world fisheries. Research efforts to develop linkage mapping, or marker-assisted selection have been hampered by absence high-quality reference genome. To address this need, we produced hybrid genome S. using long-read platform (Oxford Nanopore Technologies PromethION) assemble short-read, high quality technology (Illumina HiSeq X Ten) correct sequencing errors. The was assembled into 5,642 scaffolds with total length 4.79 Gb scaffold N 50 1.93 Mb. Annotation assembly identified 51,541 genes, including 12 copies reflectin gene, that enable control their body coloration. This new provides essential future studies biology, domestication selective breeding species.

Sepia pharaonis is an important commercial species endemic to the tropical Indo-Pacific region. Despite its commercial significance, only few information on natural populations is available. This study was aimed to describe the aspects of size-composition, length-weight relationship, catch rates, seasonal recruitment and inter-cohort growth patterns of S. pharaonis population (Clade C), distrib...

pharaoh cuttlefish (sepia pharaonis) is commercially important and native cephalopods in the persian gulf and oman sea. in 2013, a total of 150 eggs of pharaoh cuttlefish were collected from 20 m depth in about 6 miles south of lengeh port and transferred to the laboratory of mollusks research station in bandar-e lengeh. eggs were incubated in temperature of 27.5±0.5 0c (mean ± sd) and salinity...
متن کاملFirst isolation of Miamiensis avidus (Ciliophora: Scuticociliatida) associated with skin ulcers from reared pharaoh cuttlefish Sepia pharaonis.
In the winter of 2015, a skin ulcer disease outbreak occurred in a pharaoh cuttlefish Sepia pharaonis population cultured on a land-based fish farm in China. Affected cuttlefish (about 60% of the population) were characterized as having developed ulcers on the dorsal skin, fin fringe, or distal mantle tip. Masses of a ciliated protozoan were isolated from skin ulcers. The ciliate was identified...
متن کاملCamouflage during movement in the European cuttlefish (Sepia officinalis).
A moving object is considered conspicuous because of the movement itself. When moving from one background to another, even dynamic camouflage experts such as cephalopods should sacrifice their extraordinary camouflage. Therefore, minimizing detection at this stage is crucial and highly beneficial. In this study, we describe a background-matching mechanism during movement, which aids the cuttlef...
